23. How many of Mickey's career home runs did
he hit at Yankee Stadium?
Mickey hit
266 regular season career home runs at
Yankee Stadium.
24. Yankee Stadium had a short fence in right
field (296 feet). How many homers did The Mick gain because of this?
It is unlikely that Mickey gained any home runs at all due to the short
right-field fence in Yankee
Stadium.
Mickey's home runs tended to be hit
very well and certainly far enough beyond the 296 foot mark to have been homers in
almost any ball park. However, there is
no question that the extremely deep
dimension in Yankee Stadium's center-field (461 feet - the
deepest in baseball) cost Mickey numerous
shots that would have homers in most other ball parks. It is estimated that
Mick lost between 15 and 20 homers a year at Yankee Stadium, which would
compute to at least 250 additional career home runs over his 18 year
career. In the photo you can see the monuments at the base of the flag pole in
centerfield (just under 461 FT. text) that were on the field and in
play. The red line shows the field dimensions in 1976 after the stadium
was remodeled. The dimensions when Mickey played are shown in white.
25. After Yankee Stadium, where did Mickey hit most
of his career home runs?

42 home runs

26. In how many ballparks did Mickey hit home runs in
regular season games during his career?

16 different ballparks during the regular season (including
Yankee Stadium).

one
World Series grand slam.
